[KBA-00802] Automatic credential enrollment shows as a PIN code instead of a card number
This article explains why credentials that are automatically enrolled using a door reader or USB reader are sometimes interpreted as a PIN code instead of a card number.
Symptoms
26-bit Wiegand strings that have a facility code of "00" are automatically interpreted as a PIN number and not as a card number.
Cause
Facility codes of “00” are interpreted as a PIN by default in Security Center, as they are meant to accommodate PIN-only readers that output in 26-bit format.
Workaround
26-bit format cards containing “00” as a facility code must be replaced if they are to be interpreted as cards and not PIN numbers.
If using other programmable reader devices (for example, fingerprint readers), preset the facility code to a number other than "00" on that unit.
