To monitor transactions as they occur, you can view details and video of live transactions in Security Desk.

What you should know

A cash register can report any of the following events:
  • Transaction started
  • Transaction completed
  • Line received
  • Transaction received from an unknown terminal

Procedure

  1. From the Security Desk home page, open the Monitoring task.
  2. Display the Event pane, and select the following Transaction Finder column:
    • Transaction ID
  3. Click the Monitoring button, then click the Add () button.
  4. In the Select an entity to monitor dialog box, select a cash register and click Add.
    The cash register appears in Monitoring dialog box.
  5. (Optional) Assign a tile to the cash register.
    When a custom event on this cash register is received, it will automatically update the content of the selected tile.
  6. Double-click on the cash register to add it to a tile.
    If the cash register is mapped to a camera, the video is displayed in the tile.

Results

When a transaction occurs on a cash register that you are monitoring, a record of the transaction appears in the Event pane. When you double-click on a transaction, video of the transaction appears in a tile, and a widget containing information about the transaction is displayed.
