[KBA-00584] How to move cameras from one Archiver to another in Omnicast™
This article explains how to move video units from one Archiver to another in an Omnicast™ system.
Summary
The procedure to move a unit from one Archiver to another is dependent on the type of unit being moved (auto-discovery or non-auto-discovery).
More Information
Depending on your type of unit, use one of the following procedures to move video
units from one Archiver to another.
NOTE: If your unit uses a Discovery or VSIP port,
it is considered an auto-discovery unit.
To move auto-discovery units (Verint, Bosch, GE MPEG-4):
- Open Server Admin on the destination server.
- Create an extension (if there isn't one already) to host the migrating unit. For example, if moving a Verint unit, you must have a Verint extension on the destination server.
- Configure a unique discovery port in the destination server’s extension. If the destination server's discovery port matches the one on the source server, the video camera attempts to connect to both.
- Change the video unit's settings to match the discovery port found in the destination server's extension.
- Reboot the unit. Once it comes back online, the camera is added to the new Archiver. If it is not automatically added, add the unit manually.
To move non-auto-discovery units:
- Open Server Admin on the destination server.
- Log in to Config Tool and switch to the Physical View.
- Search for the video unit you want to move.
- Right-click the unit and select Remove Unit from Archiver. The unit
turns red.
- Right-click the red unit and select Create > Video unit.
- Select the Archiver to which you want to add the unit from the Archiver
drop-down menu.
- Click Add. The unit is added to the new Archiver.
