Using Config Tool, you can export a Management Information Base (MIB) file that includes your SNMP traps. This file can then be imported into an SNMP manager to automate setup.

What you should know

Events created in Industrial Protocol Interface are protocol-agnostic.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool home page, open the Plugins task.
  2. In the Plugins task, select the plugin role from the entity browser, and click the Protocols tab.
  3. Click the SNMP tab.
  4. (Optional) In the Notification browser section, click Refresh () to update the list of SNMP arguments.
  5. Click Export MIB file.
    Exporting an MIB file.

The Notification browser lists the SNMP arguments and information like entity names and IDs, event types, and whether events are native or custom.

  6. Save the GENETEC-IPI-MIB file to a local directory.

Results

The MIB file is saved and available for import into your SNMP manager.
