For an intrusion unit that requires more or less time to communicate with the
extension than the other units in your network, you can change the connection timeout and
polling frequency settings.
What you should know
The parameters set on the
Unit tab override the default
parameters set on the
Extensions tab of the Intrusion Manager
role.
Procedure
-
From the Config
Tool home page,
open the Intrusion detection task.
-
Expand the Intrusion Manager role from the entity browser, and then select the
intrusion detection unit you want to configure.
-
On the Unit tab, configure the following:
- Timeout command
- The number of milliseconds Intrusion Manager waits for the panel to respond to a test
command. If the timeout is reached, the unit is disconnected. The default is 2000
milliseconds. This setting overrides the settings on the
Extensions tab of the Intrusion Manager role.
- Attempts on failure
- (Master panels only) The number of times the Intrusion Manager attempts to connect to
the panel after it is disconnected. The default is 3 retries. If the connection fails
after the final retry, the intrusion detection unit is reported as offline.
- Control action
- (Master panels only) When enabled, commands sent to the panel include a connection and
disconnection request. If you are using ATS8500 for remote connection to panels, set
Control action to OFF. If you are using
Titan for remote connection to panels, set Control action to
ON.
- Polling
- The frequency (in milliseconds) that the Intrusion Manager requests the state of the
areas, inputs, and modules. The default is 5000 milliseconds. When set to 0, polling is
disabled.
- Outputs
- Enables or disable the polling of outputs. When this is off, the extension does not
request the state of the outputs on a panel. This setting is disabled by default.
