In Active Directory, you can assign credentials to your users before importing them into Security Center.

What you should know

Credentials in Active Directory are only for access control, not for login authorization or Windows credentials. Only assign credentials to users in Active Directory who will be imported in Security Center as part of a cardholder security group.

Procedure

  1. In the Active Directory Users and Computers window, click View and ensure Advanced Features is selected. This setting must be selected to view the Attribute Editor tab.
  2. In the Active Directory Users and Computers window, right click the user you want to assign credentials to.
  3. Select Properties.
    The User Properties window opens.
  4. Click the Attribute Editor tab.
  5. In the Attributes section, select an unused attribute with a unicode string format, for example, msDS.cloudExtensionAttribute1.
    1. Double click the attribute.
    2. In the Value field, enter your desired facility code.
    3. Click OK.
  6. (Optional) Create your own attribute
  7. Select another unused unicode string attribute.
    1. Double click the attribute.
    2. In the Value field, enter the corresponding card number credential.
    3. Click OK.
  8. Click Apply > OK.
