To permanently install SharpZ3 cameras on the patrol vehicle, you can use the hardmount: a base for the pan/tilt mount.
Prepare your vehicle for a hardmount installation.
Before you begin
The hardmount includes the following components:
What you should know
|A||Upper mounting block|
|B||Upper rubber gasket|
|D||Lower rubber gasket|
|E||Threaded base block|
- To complete these steps, you need the following:
- Roll of tape
- Hex key wrenches
- The camera mounting base has four parts:
- Threaded base block
- Two rubber gaskets
- Upper mounting block
Place one of the rubber mounting gaskets on the threaded base block and hold the
assembly underneath the mounting location.
Tip: After you align the gasket and base block, hold them in together using tape.
On the roof of the vehicle, align the second gasket on the mounting location, and
then align the upper mounting block.
Tip: Use a hex key wrench to help align the screw holes.
- Insert the four flat-head socket-cap screws into the mounting holes and tighten them using a diagonal pattern.
