Flexreader™ can be used with suitable cameras from the Genetec Inc. Supported Devices List. To ensure that your system gives you the best ALPR performance, consider the following camera requirements and recommendations.

Minimum camera requirements
When selecting a camera from the SDL for use with Flexreader™, ensure that the camera includes the following features, which are required for an outdoor ALPR installation.
- IR illumination. For more information, see Lighting requirements for Flexreader™ cameras.
- IR-compensated lens with Night Mode support
- Field-configurable zoom and focus
- Configurable exposure settings
- Minimum resolution of 800 x 600 pixels
Recommended camera features
In addition to meeting the minimum camera requirements, cameras that also include the following recommended features are ideal for a Flexreader™ installation.
- Resolution range 720p to 1080p
- Global shutter camera sensor
- Low light sensitivity
- 1/3" camera sensor or larger
- Easily adjustable mounting bracket
