Before you install the plugin, read the release notes, make sure a valid certificate for your plugin is activated on your Security Center license, and download the plugin.
Please do the following before installing the plugin:
- Read the Flexreader™ release notes for any known issues, limitations, and other important information about this release.
- Install a compatible version of Security Center on the server. For more information, see Flexreader™ plugin compatibility.
- Check that your Security Center license has a
valid certificate for the Flexreader™
plugin.
The license number is included in the product-release email from the Genetec™ product manager. This email also includes links to the plugin download package.
- Download the Flexreader™ plugin from the GTAP
Product Downloads page, at https://portal.genetec.com/support/SystemManagement/DownloadSection.aspx.
Copy the downloaded package to the server that will be used to host the plugin and to any other workstations that will be used to configure it. The package can be copied to any location on the computer.
- To use IP cameras to capture license plate reads, you must:
- Ensure that the cameras that will be used for ALPR are installed and configured correctly for use with the plugin.
- Set up the Archiver for ALPR.
- Add the cameras that will be used for ALPR or context images to the Archiver.
- Configure an ALPR Manager role on the server.
- Add the cameras that will be used for ALPR images to the ALPR Manager.
