The SharpV includes two inputs and two outputs (I/Os) which can be used to trigger a license plate read on an input signal.
You can use the IOs in conjunction with Security Center to create event-to-actions so that
inputs and outputs trigger or react to system
events.
NOTE: For more information on how to trigger
“READ NOW” actions on a SharpV, see
Triggering one-time actions in Security Center.
In the following example, the signal from an in-ground loop is used to trigger a
gate after a plate read. To configure the SharpV I/Os to perform this function, you must create event-to-actions for license plate
reads in Security Center.
NOTE:
For more information, see Creating event-to-actions for ALPR events or hotlist events.
Component | Description |
---|---|
A | Output signal to the gate controller from SharpV output 1 (pin #1)* |
B | Input signal from the in-ground loop to SharpV input 1 (pin #5)* |
C | In-ground loop (input device) |
D | Gate (output device) |
* For information on the SharpV I/O pinout, see SharpV input and output specifications.
SharpV outputs
Driving a relayIf more than 100 mA is required, the SharpV outputs can be used to drive external
relays.
NOTE: Respect the maximum output voltage (30 V) and the maximum sink
current (100mA). For information, see SharpV input and output specifications.
The SharpV outputs can be used to interface with microprocessors or other systems that have a digital input.
NOTE: Respect the maximum output voltage (30 V) and the maximum
sink current (100mA). For information, see SharpV input and output specifications.
SharpV inputs
External output deviceAn external output device such as a vehicle sensor can be used to trigger license plate reads on the SharpV.
NOTE: Maximum input voltage: 30 V, Guaranteed ON > 5.75 V, Guaranteed OFF
< 4.80 V. For information, see SharpV input and output specifications.
