If you are not sending license plate reads to Security Center, you can configure the SharpV to send license plate read data to an FTP or HTTP
server.
What you should know
- You do not need to select an extension if you add the camera to the ALPR Manager
using the LPM protocol. In this case, the setting is added and is automatically
selected when the unit is added in Security Center.
- If the SharpV is connected to Security Center, plate reads are automatically
stored if the connection is lost.
- For FTP and HTTP extensions, plate reads and images are automatically stored if the
connection is lost, however, you can disable edge storage using the Retain
data when the connection is lost setting in the extension
configuration. To reduce cellular data usage, you can also configure whether the ALPR
and context images are exported.
Procedure
-
Log on to the Sharp Portal.
-
From the Configuration menu, select the page.
-
From the Extension type drop-down list, select one of the
following:
- FTP
- Use this option to send ALPR data to an FTP server. You can configure the
FTP XML template which can be integrated by third-party applications. For
more information, see Configuring the SharpV FTP extension.
- HTTP
- Use this option to send ALPR data to an HTTP server. You can configure the
system to send the data in XML or JSON format. For more information and
examples of the exported XML and JSON files, see Configuring an HTTP extension.
- Security Center (LPM protocol)
- By default, LPM protocol is not an available extension. When a
SharpV (SharpOS 12.7 and later) is manually added to
the ALPR Manager (Security Center 5.8 and
later), the LPM protocol is automatically selected as the unit’s extension
type.

Click Save.
