Before installing a SharpV system, it is recommended that you familiarize yourself with the hardware components used in a typical installation.

Overview of a typical SharpV system with gate control.
  Component What you should know
A Input / output control Using the SharpV's inputs and outputs, you can configure Security Center to control an entry point based on a valid license plate read. For more information, see SharpV input and output specifications.
B SharpV: Input / output connection The SharpV includes two inputs and two outputs (I/O). You can configure the SharpV to use an input signal to trigger a license plate read. For more information, see SharpV input and output specifications.

For SharpV G3 units, the I/O connector also functions as an auxiliary 24 V dc power input connection. For more information, see About powering the SharpV G3 using 24 V dc.

C SharpV: Network cable connection The SharpV connects to the network using a standard CAT5e network cable (not included). For more information, see Network cable requirements for SharpV cameras.
D Mounting bracket A Videotec WBJA (white) or WBJF (black) mounting bracket is included with the SharpV unit. You can also mount the unit using adapters for third-party mounting hardware or using your own custom solution. For a list of compatible mounting brackets, see SharpV mounting hardware.
E PoE++ power Power can be supplied to the SharpV through the network cable, using PoE++. For more information, see Network cable requirements for SharpV cameras.
NOTE: For power input information for SharpV G1 and G2 units, see SharpV hardware versions.
