The status LEDs on the SharpZ3 camera unit, base unit, ALPR module, and expansion modules respond according to the status of the system.

SharpZ3 camera LED status

LED State Description
Off Off The unit is powered-off.
Off Covert mode SharpZ3 cameras are configured in covert mode. Following camera startup, their LEDs are deactivated.
Slow red blinking (0.5 seconds off – 0.5 seconds on) Catastrophic failure The unit is shut down due to a critical error, for example, an over-temperature alarm. In this state, you cannot connect to the cameras.
Three red blinks per second Major failure Internal services are down. You might be able to connect to the cameras and you might be able to see the logs.
One short red blink per second Performance issues or minor failure The system is running with important performance issues, for example, failure of the illuminator.
Five green blinks per second System update Internal services are down during the system update, but is expected to come back online after the update is complete.
Slow red and green alternating (0.5 seconds each) Locate camera After clicking Blink LED in the Sharp Portal, the LED blinks for 10 seconds.
Slow green blinking Normal mode The system is running normally.
One green blink per second System startup The system is booting up.

SharpZ3 base unit LED status

LED OLED display State Description
Off   Off The unit is powered-off.
Off CoverMode Covert mode SharpZ3 cameras are configured in covert mode. Following camera startup, their LEDs are deactivated.
Slow red blinking (0.5 seconds off – 0.5 seconds on) C-fail Catastrophic failure The unit is shut down due to a critical error, for example, an over-temperature alarm. In this state, you cannot connect to the cameras.
Three red blinks per second M-Fail Major failure Internal services are down. You might be able to connect to the cameras and you might be able to see the logs.
One short red blink per second Perf Fail Performance issues or minor failure The system is running with important performance issues, for example, failure of the illuminator.
Five green blinks per second Updating System update Internal services are down during the system update, but is expected to come back online after the update is complete.
Slow green blinking Normal mode Normal mode The system is running normally.
One green blink per second System startup Camera startup The system is booting up.

Navigation expansion module LED status

LED State Description
Off Off The unit is powered-off.
Slow green blinking Normal mode The module is running normally.
Slow red blinking Error The module is not receiving messages from GNSS chip.

AUX PoE expansion module LED status

LED State Description
Off Off The unit is powered-off.
Slow green blinking Normal mode The module is running normally.
