Configure the inputs, output relays, and readers connected to your Axis Powered by Genetec unit to enable Security Center to monitor and manage them. Inputs are configured in Config Tool, and outputs relays and readers are configured on the Hardware subpage of the Powered by Genetec page.

Before you begin

  • Connect the readers to your Axis Powered by Genetec unit, and make a note of which port each reader is connected to.

Each Axis Powered by Genetec unit has one (A1210) or two (A1610) reader ports. Each port can be connected to either one Wiegand reader or up to two OSDP readers. The readers are set to OSDP by default.

  • Be sure to write down the following information for OSDP readers:
    • Baud rate (9600, 19200, 38400, or 115200).

Must be the same for all readers connected to the same port.

    • Physical address (0 - 126).
    • Encryption key (32 hexadecimal characters), if applicable.
  • Be sure to restart the device if you have configured auxiliary I/Os as outputs in the AXIS device interface.

Procedure

  1. Configure the inputs.
  2. Go to the Powered by Genetec page.
  3. Click the Hardware tab.
Powered by Genetec page with the Hardware tab selected.
  4. In the Hardware section section, do the following:
    1. Configure the outputs.
    2. Configure the connected readers.
