To configure an Axis Powered by Genetec door controller, you need to sign in to the AXIS device interface with a web browser.
What you should know
- The AXIS device interface is the administrative web portal for the Axis Powered by Genetec device. For more information, see The device interface in the Axis Powered by Genetec Help.
- The Axis device is factory configured for DHCP. The default device hostname consists of
AXIS-, followed by the device's MAC address. For example,AXIS-B8A44F6554C4. The MAC address is also the serial number, and can be found on a label at the bottom of the device.
Best Practice: For security reasons, we recommend using a
Chromium-based browser, such as Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.
Procedure

(First sign-in only) Create the first user account for your device.
If it is your first sign-in, or if you performed a factory reset, you must create a first user account to sign in to your device. The first account that you create is an administrator account. Use this account to enroll your device in Security Center.
- Select an account name other than "root", and create a secure password.
- Accept the end user license agreement and click Add account.
- Memorize the account name and password or write them down in a safe place.
IMPORTANT: After creating the account, wait 5 minutes for the Synergis™ Softwire app to initialize.
