Prepare the Map 5000 intrusion panel for integration with Security Center.

Procedure

  1. Make sure that the Map 5000 intrusion panel is configured and working as expected.
  2. On all routers, switches, and network devices, unblock the port used to communicate with the extension.
  3. Confirm that the Map 5000 intrusion panel can communicate with the Security Center server where the extension will be installed, using the Ping command, Telnet, or related tools.
  4. Install the Bosch Remote Programming Software (RPS) software. You can install it on the Security Center server that hosts the Intrusion Manager role and the Bosch Map 5000 intrusion panel extension.
  5. From the Bosch RPS application, create a user account for Security Center.
    1. Set Access profile to Installer Profile.
    2. Enable this account to be an Open Interface user.
    3. Take note of the user name and password.
  6. From the Bosch RPS, connect to the intrusion panel and configure it for remote communications in by doing the following:
    1. Create a profile for the intrusion panel.
    2. In the Hardware Manager section, configure the panel as required, and select Enable OII.
    3. Connect to the intrusion panel.
NOTE: If Bosch RPS cannot connect to the panel, then Security Center won't be able to connect either.

Results

The panel is ready for communication with Security Center.

You should have the following information written down for use during the enrollment of the panel in Security Center:

  • User name and password of the Open Interface user account.
  • Panel's IP address and port.
