If you cannot install the proxy service on the CCURE 9000 server, verify that you are installing from the setup.exe file.

Symptoms

  • When you try to install the proxy on the CCURE 9000 server, you get the following error message: There does not appear to be a valid CCURE 9000 System installed. This product needs to have a CCURE 9000 System of at least version 2.90 installed on the target system.
An error message triggered by an attempt to install the proxy directly through MSI rather than the setup executable.
  • There are no installation logs for CCURE 9000 in the c:\ProgramData\Genetec\Installation\CCure_<XXXXXXXX-XXXXXX> folder, where <XXXXXXXX-XXXXXX> is the date and time.
  • Logs appear in the user's temp folder as a MSIxxxxxx.LOG file, but there is no reference to CCURE_VERSION, and the logs contain the error:
    Code
There does not appear to be a valid CCURE 9000 System installed. This product needs to have a CCURE 9000 System of at least version 2.90 installed on the target system.

Cause

  • The MSI installation file for the proxy was run directly instead of through the setup.exe file. The setup.exe detects the version of CCURE 9000 and passes it to the MSI as a parameter, which does not happen if installation is done directly through the MSI.
Solution

Use the setup.exe file to install the proxy on the CCURE 9000 server.
