The port used by the CCURE 9000 Access Control plugin must match the port set on the CCURE 9000 server. If you change the Port number in the Properties tab of the plugin role, update the Genetec™ Security Center - Software House CCURE 9000 Access Control Proxy Service to match.

What you should know

To minimize configuration issues, it is a best practice to not change the port number unless absolutely necessary. If you must change the port number, be aware that:
  • Any improper data in, or manipulation of, the configuration file can prevent the proxy from starting up or functioning correctly.
  • Modifications to the configuration file are not preserved on upgrade or re-installation.
  • Any modifications must be noted and saved on the system in the event that the system needs to be serviced in the future.
  • The port number on the proxy and the plugin must match for any connections to be possible.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the CCURE 9000 server.
  2. Browse to folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Tyco\CrossFire\.
  3. Make a backup of the file Genetec.NextGenConnectedProgram.Plugin.Service.exe.config.
  4. Open the file Genetec.NextGenConnectedProgram.Plugin.Service.exe.config in a text editor.
  5. In the file, locate the line <add baseAddress="net.Tcp://localhost:5645/Genetec/CCUREAccessControl"/>.
NOTE: The default port number is 5645.
  6. Change the port number with the same value configured in the plugin.
  7. Save the file, and then close it.
  8. On the server, open Microsoft Management Console Services (services.msc).
  9. Select the Genetec Security Center CCURE Proxy Service from the list of services and click Restart.
The CCURE 9000 Access Control plugin loses connection with the proxy service while the service restarts and might need to perform a synchronization when the connection is re-established.

Results

The plugin and the CCURE 9000 server have the same port number configured and should be able to establish a connection.
IMPORTANT: If the proxy service does not function correctly after you modify the configuration file parameters, revert to the backup copy of the file you created earlier in this task and restart the proxy service.
