After you enable encryption on the plugin and proxy service, set a password to secure communications between the plugin and the proxy.

Procedure

To set a password on the proxy service:

  1. Using File Explorer, navigate to the Genetec.Plugins.CCure.Configurator.exe executable.
By default, the executable file is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Tyco\CrossFire.
  2. Launch the executable file.

    The Configurator.exe interface.
  3. Complete the Password field and click OK.
  4. Restart the proxy service.

To complete the password field in the plugin:

  1. From the Config Tool homepage, open the Plugins task.
  2. Select the CCURE 9000 Access Control plugin from the entity browser, and click the Properties tab.
The Properties page now has a password field.
NOTE: The password field is only available if communications between the plugin and the proxy service are encrypted.
  3. Enter the password that you set for the proxy.
The CCURE properties tab with the password field completed.
  4. Click Apply.

Results

Communications between the plugin and the proxy service are secured.
NOTE: If you need to change the proxy password, delete the password file in C:\ProgramData\IsolatedStorage\, recreate the password using Genetec.Plugins.CCure.Configurator.exe, and then restart the proxy.
