Before you can configure a Cloud Link Roadrunner™ unit, you must perform some pre-configuration steps.

Procedure

  • Read the release notes for any known issues and other information about the release.
  • Have a computer equipped with a network card, Ethernet cable, and a web browser.
  • (Optional) Have the IP address of the unit assigned by your IT department.
  • Connect the OSDP readers to the unit through the proper communication channels.
NOTE: If multiple OSDP readers are connected to the same RD port, the readers must be wired as a daisy-chain and not a star.

The RS-485 channel has a built-in 120 ohm resistor. It is recommended to use an end-of-line resistor at the last reader to get impedance matching and avoid signal reflections.

  • Connect physical devices (REX, door sensors, and so on), or use test switches and LEDs during the configuration phase.
For more information, see Cloud Link Roadrunner™ wiring diagram.
  • Download the latest Cloud Link Roadrunner™ package from the Product Download page on GTAP.
  • Install and configure Security Center with at least one Access Manager role.
For information about deploying Synergis™, see the Deploying your access control system.

After you finish

Configure your unit.
