DMP intrusion panel uses specific terms. Here are the definitions of some common terms and their equivalents in Security Center.

| 24-hour zone | 24-hour zones include Panic, Emergency, and Supervisory. Unlike regular zones, a 24-hour zone is always armed and no area assignment is needed. | 24H zones (an intrusion detection area) |
| Ambush | The duress code is used if an attacker or robber ambushes you and forces you to disarm the intrusion detection area. | Duress |
| Area | A group of zones configured on the intrusion panel that specify a physical area, such as a floor of a building. These groups can be monitored and armed in Security Desk. | Intrusion detection area |
| Control panel | The intrusion panel that can be monitored and controlled by Security Center | Intrusion detection unit |
| DMP command processor panel | The intrusion panel that can be monitored and controlled by Security Center | Intrusion detection unit |

| User code | The account a person uses to access the functionality of the intrusion panel, such as arming and disarming areas. | Cardholder |
| Zone1 | Inputs for devices such as glass break detectors, motion sensors, temperature sensors, and so on, that are connected to the intrusion panel. | Input |
1If you create a zone with a blank type in Remote Link, it will not appear in Security Center because the zone is not fully configured.
