You can change the connection settings of a unit, such as its remote key, IP address, port numbers. You can also override the global synchronization settings for a unit, which you might want to do if network traffic causes delays in communication.

What you should know

Only Administrators or a user with user management rights can modify these fields.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool home page, open the Intrusion detection task.
  2. Expand the Intrusion Manager role from the entity browser, and then select the intrusion detection unit you want to configure.
  3. Click the Properties tab.
  4. Make the required changes in the Connection section.
    Intrusion manager
This setting is only visible when there are multiple Intrusion Manager roles. Choose a role to host the DMP intrusion panel.
    IP address
The unique TCP/IP address of the DMP intrusion panel.
    Port
The TCP communication port number that is configured on the DMP intrusion panel. On the panel, this is the Listen Port and the Network Programming Port.
    Event port
A unique port number that Security Center uses to listen for incoming events from the DMP intrusion panel. On the panel, this is the Net Port.
    Assign automatically
    Select this check box.
When selected, the panel's Net Options on the PC Log Reports page are configured correctly. The Net IP address is set to the address of the Intrusion Manager server. The Net Port is set to a unique value.
    Account number
The account number is a one- to five-digit number used to identify the intrusion panel. On the panel, this is the Account Number on the Area Information page. The default is 12345.
    Remote key
The remote access code for the intrusion panel that was assigned using DMP Remote Link. Security Center can only communicate with the panel when the correct remote key is provided.
    Always stay connected
(Integrator or Entré connection) Keeps the connection between the DMP intrusion panel and Security Center open permanently.
  5. In the Synchronization section, move the desired slider to Override, then configure any of the following:
    Keep clock synchronized
When enabled, this option keeps the clock on the intrusion panel synchronized with the clock on the Security Center server.
NOTE: The plugin does not adjust time zones for daylight saving. As a workaround, turn off the Keep clock synchronized option in Config Tool, and then manually change the time on the DMP intrusion panel using DMP Remote Link.
    Synchronization interval
Defines how often, in minutes, Security Center reconnects to the intrusion panel and sets the panel's clock. The default is 60 minutes.
NOTE: When you synchronize the clocks, the time is set to the Security Center server's local time zone.
  6. Click Apply.
