To reliably be able to validate the source Archiver that created a video file's digital signature, you must generate and safely store the digital signature origin.

Procedure

  1. Open Server Admin and select the server that hosts the source Archiver.
  2. Click Actions > Console > Commands.
  3. Expand ArchiverAgent commands, select GetDigitalSignatureOrigin, and click Save.
Server Admin showing the GetDigitalSignatureOrigin command with the Save button highlighted.
A text file containing the digital signature origin is created.
  4. Open the file, click Save as, and give the file a meaningful name.
  5. Password protect, encrypt, and restrict access to the text file.
Example: Use 7-Zip encryption with a password and store the file on a non-public folder.
  6. If a secondary server is assigned to an archiving role, select it in Server Admin and repeat steps 2 - 5.
