To add a combo box to a form, you must add the field to the template and then customize it in the Field properties dialog box.

What you should know

  • Combo boxes can be populated by one of the following source types:
    List
    Fills the combo box with values that have been created in the Lists page of the plugin role. If you are using a dictionary list, you must you must create a field for the key and then a field for the value.

    Events
    Fills the combo box with Security Center events. When this option is selected, you are given the option to bind the form to a triggered event. If you select this option, the event that triggered the form will be entered in this field automatically.

  • If you are pulling in a dictionary list, you must add separate fields for the key and the value.

Procedure

  1. In the fields toolbar, click the Combo box () button, then click the area of the form where you want to add it.
  2. Click the edit () button beside the combo box.
  3. In the Field properties dialog box, customize the field:
    Name
    Enter a name for the field.
    Source type
    In the first list, choose whether source type should be a list or events.
    Color and border
    Choose colors to fill the field and for the border of the field, as well as the thickness of the border. If you select List, from the second list, select the list that you want to populate the combo box.
    Searchable
    Select whether forms can be searched for by combo box in the Dynamic Log Book report task in Security Desk.
    Mandatory
    Select whether the field must be completed by the Security Desk operator.
  4. Close the dialog box.
  5. Click Apply.
