You can modify the arrangement of the tiles on a video wall from the Security Desk Monitoring task. You can either change the pattern of a video wall layout, and then apply it to a video wall, or change the pattern on the video wall itself.

What you should know

  • If a video wall layout has already been applied to a video wall, changes made to the layout aren’t pushed to the video wall.
  • The tile pattern can only be changed on the first page, and all pages have the same pattern.

Procedure

  1. From the Security Desk homepage, open the Monitoring task.
  2. From the entity browser, drag a video wall or a video wall layout to a tile on the canvas.
  3. If you want to modify a video wall entity, click Take control.
  4. From the tile, click Edit pattern.
    The editable area becomes blue.
  5. Add or remove rows and columns as desired by using the Add () and Delete () buttons, or by hovering over the layout to display preview separators.
NOTE: The maximum number of rows and columns is 8x8.
  6. Click Done to exit the pattern editing mode.

Example

Depending on the current tile configuration of the video wall, you might see the tile separators previewed as dotted lines or displayed in red when hovering over the layout. This example shows how to edit the tile pattern of a layout using the hover-over method.

The following image shows the preview for adding a separator. Clicking while the preview is displayed adds the separator.

The following image shows the preview for removing a separator. Clicking while the preview is displayed removes the separator, but doesn’t delete the column.

After clicking the red separator, tiles 5 and 6 will be merged, but the 4x4 layout is still considered to have four columns.
