Refer to the following scenarios to know how to set up your area entities in Config Tool.

Example 1 - mustering area outside evacuation areas

In this example, the site has three buildings and the mustering point where evacuees from all three buildings must badge at during an evacuation is located in the parking lot.
In Config Tool, the buildings are represented by the Building A, Building B, and Building C areas. The Parking lot area is configured as the mustering area and is at the same level as Building A, Building B, and Building C.

Example 2 - evacuation within larger evacuation

In this example, there are two evacuation scenarios:
First scenario
Evacuees from Building A, Building B, and Building C must all badge at the mustering point located in the parking lot.
Second scenario
This scenario is designed in case the mustering area in the first scenario is compromised, and you want all evacuees to evacuate to a different mustering area. In this example, everyone from Building A, Building B, Building C, and those who had already reached the Parking lot must all badge at one of the two mustering points located in the park across the street from the buildings.

In both evacuation scenarios, the evacuation area and its mustering areas are configured on the same level in the entity hierarchy in Config Tool.

  • The buildings are represented by the Building A, Building B, and Building C areas. The Parking lot area is configured as the mustering area for all three buildings. All four areas are configured on the same level, and nested in the Montreal site area.
  • The Montreal site - Park A and Montreal site - Park B areas are configured as mustering areas for the Montreal site. All three areas are configured on the same level.
NOTE: When an evacuation is started from the Montreal site, all ongoing evacuations started from the buildings are automatically stopped. Anyone who was already marked as Safe by reaching the mustering point in the Parking lot is automatically reset to Unknown until they badge again at one of the mustering points in Montreal site - Park A or Montreal site - Park B.

Example 3 - mustering area outside nested evacuation areas

In this example, the site has three buildings in a fenced area that you need to badge into to enter. The mustering point where evacuees from all three buildings must badge at during an evacuation is located in the parking lot.
In Config Tool, the buildings are represented by the Building A, Building B, and Building C areas, nested in the Secured site area. The Parking lot area is configured as the mustering area and is at the same level as the Secured site area.

Example 4 - mustering area inside evacuation area

In this example, the site has three buildings in a fenced area that you need to badge into to enter. The mustering point where evacuees from all three buildings must badge at during an evacuation is located in the parking lot within the fenced area.
In Config Tool, the buildings are represented by the Building A, Building B, and Building C areas, nested in the Secured site area. The Parking lot area is configured as the mustering area and is at the same level as the Secured site area.
NOTE: The area configuration in Config Tool is the same for both example 3 and 4, even though in example 4, the mustering area is physically within the area to be evacuated. For more information, see limitation 2577626.

For the people count of the Secured site area to be updated with the cardholders in the Parking lot area after the evacuation ends, the Forgive antipassback and move cardholders to area option for the Parking lot area must be enabled with the Secured site area selected as the area.
