In Evacuation Assistant, evacuations are started and stopped on areas in Security Center. In Config Tool, each area to evacuate can be assigned one or more other areas that represent the physical location of the emergency assembly points.

When an evacuation starts

  • The Evacuation started event is generated for the area being evacuated.
  • The Mustering started event is generated for the mustering areas that are part of the evacuation.
NOTE: If multiple evacuations use the same mustering areas, the Mustering started event is only generated when the first evacuation starts.
  • In entity trees that show areas, the icon of the area for which you started the evacuation changes to , and the icons of the assigned mustering areas change to .
  • The People counting task is updated accordingly as cardholders and visitors are marked as Safe.
    • When someone badges their credentials at a reader associated with the mustering area that is designated for the evacuation, the status of their cardholder is automatically marked as Safe.
IMPORTANT: If the cardholder that was marked as Safe badges to re-enter the area being evacuated, their status remains Safe. You can configure threat levels with a minimum security clearance to prevent people from re-entering areas under evacuation. For more information, see Threat level actions.
    • Using the Evacuation Assistant portal, the mustering captain can manually mark cardholders and visitors as Safe.
  • The details of the evacuation are updated in real time on the home page of the Evacuation Assistant portal.
  • In the Active evacuations task, the query filters are enabled to generate a report.

After an evacuation ends

  • The Evacuation ended event is generated for the area being evacuated.
  • The Mustering ended event is generated for the mustering areas that are part of the evacuation.
NOTE: If multiple evacuations use the same mustering areas, the Mustering ended event is only generated when the last evacuation ends.
  • In entity trees that show areas, the icons of all areas return to their original icons.
  • In the Evacuation Assistant portal, if no other evacuations are in progress, the message No evacuations in progress is displayed on the home page. If other evacuations are in progress, only the information for those evacuations is displayed.
  • In the Active evacuations task, the last information generated remains in the report pane, but the query filters are disabled if no other evacuations are in progress. No new reports can be generated on evacuations that have ended.
