To enhance security and keep your devices off the internet, you can host them on an
isolated network connected to your Genetec Cloudlink™ 310 appliance.
What you should know
On a single network, internet connectivity and network discovery occur on Ethernet port 1.
Ethernet port 2 is disabled.
On an isolated network, the appliance connects to the internet on Ethernet port 1 and to
devices on Ethernet port 2, acting as a bridge between devices and the internet to better
protect sensitive data. To ensure proper network connectivity and device discovery, you must
use different subnets for Ethernet ports 1 and 2.
Procedure
-
On a computer connected to the same subnet, open a web browser and connect to the
appliance portal.
Go to
https://<appliance>
, where
<appliance>
is the hostname or IP address of
your unit. The default hostname is printed on the unit label beside
Nom/Name.
NOTE: Cloudlink appliances use a self-signed certificate. When
connecting to the appliance, your browser might warn you that the connection is unsafe.
You can ignore this message and proceed.
The appliance portal opens.
-
Enter the username admin and your password, and then click
Connect.
If you’re connecting to the appliance for the first time, the default password is
printed on the unit label beside PWD. You’ll be asked to change this password after
signing in.
-
From the portal homepage, click the Network tab.
-
Turn on Connect to an isolated network.
-
For the Ethernet port 2 connection, enter the connection settings for the DHCP or
static IP connection.
IMPORTANT: To ensure proper network connectivity and
device discovery, you must use different subnets for Ethernet ports 1 and 2.
Results
When the network is detected on Ethernet port 2, the port
displays the status
Connected, and the device on the isolated network
can be discovered and connected to Security Center SaaS.
