To correct a malfunction with your Genetec Cloudlink™ 310 appliance, or to erase appliance data for any other reason, you can perform a factory reset.

Before you begin

NOTE: If you lose your password and can't connect to the appliance, perform recovery steps.

What you should know

Perform a factory reset to correct an appliance malfunction following advice from technical support, before a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA), or before repurposing it.

In a factory reset:

  • The appliance password is reset to the default password printed on the appliance label.
  • System settings are reset to default values.
  • User and application data, including video files, are deleted.
  • Network settings are deleted unless you choose to preserve them.

Procedure

  1. On a computer connected to the same subnet, open a web browser and connect to the appliance web page.
The address is https://<appliance> , where <appliance> is the hostname or IP address of the Cloudlink. The default hostname is printed on the unit label beside Nom/Name.
NOTE: Cloudlink appliances use a self-signed certificate. When connecting to the appliance, your browser might warn you that the connection is unsafe. You can ignore this message and proceed.
    The appliance web page opens.
  2. Enter the username admin and your password, and then click Sign in.
  3. Click the Diagnostics tab, and then click Factory reset.
The Factory reset button on the Diagnostics tab in the Cloudlink appliance.
  4. If required, select Preserve the network configuration.
Preserving the network configuration in the Cloudlink appliance
  5. Click Reset device.
The appliance resets to factory defaults and reboots automatically.

If the appliance was previously added to Security Center SaaS, it will reconnect automatically.

After you finish

  • If you performed the factory reset for an RMA, return the appliance.
  • If you're keeping the appliance and if required, add it to Security Center SaaS.
  • Sign in to the appliance with the default password and change it.
