Before you can monitor CAD data, you must configure the plugin to connect to external
CAD systems so that data can be exchanged between the plugin and your CAD system.
Before you begin
- Create a user profile and assign it the following privileges:

Web Client
-
Log on using SDK
-
Send CAD calls using REST API
Procedure

From Config Tool, navigate to the Properties page in the Dispatch System Connector
plugin.
To configure the plugin to connect with on-premise CAD systems:

In the REST section:

Select the Activated check box.

Ensure the Host port is set to
443
.

In the Authentication section, enter details for the
Web server role host and Web server role
port.

(Optional) Select the Allow self-signed certificates check
box.
If you select this option, the system accepts self-signed certificate. Otherwise,
the system only accepts valid certificates signed by a certificate authority.

(Optional) If the certificate you are using is issued to a different hostname,
modify the settings in the Advanced options section.

Click Apply.

From the Providers page, configure the following:

In the General CAD ingestion service settings section, select
the Activated checkbox.

In the Events API section, use the OAuth settings that are
populated by default.

In the Plugin authentication section, add a user that has been
assigned the following privileges: Web Client, Log on using SDK, and
Send CAD calls using REST API. For more information about creating users and
assigning privileges, refer to Creating users and Assigning privileges on the TechDoc Hub.

(Optional) In the GPS metadata section, select the
Relay GPS metadata check box and enter the address used by
the Vehicle Monitoring plugin.

Click Apply.
To configure the plugin to connect with cloud-based CAD systems:

In the Message Broker section:

Select the Activated check box.

Enter the Tenant ID and Cities configuration
URL provided to you by your Genetec point of contact.

(Optional) Select the Allow self-signed certificates check
box.
If you select this option, the system accepts self-signed certificate. Otherwise,
the system only accepts valid certificates signed by a certificate authority.

Click Add () and add the OAuth credentials provided by your Genetec
point of contact.
Tip: Click Test to ensure
your credentials are correct.

Click Save.

Click Apply.
Tip: There is no need to configure the General
CAD ingestion service settings or CAD ingestion service
properties sections if you are only connecting with cloud-based CAD
systems.
