You can perform an automatic installation of the Web API by launching the installer program with command-line arguments.

Before you begin

  • Read the Release Notes for known issues, limitations, system requirements, and other information about the release.
  • Ensure that a compatible version of Genetec Mission Control™ is installed.
    NOTE: If Genetec Mission Control™ is being deployed as part of the same silent install, you must install it before the Web API.

What you should know

A silent installation deploys software automatically, without user interaction. During a silent install, the installer is launched by using command-line arguments that specify how to install the software. The required commands are typically held in a batch file that is run on the target system.

Procedure

To install the Genetec Mission Control™ Web API in silent mode:

  1. As administrator, run the following command in the same directory as the Web API setup executable: 
    Genetec_MissionControlWebApi_Setup.exe /quiet [<Arguments>] [<MsiProperties>]

To uninstall Genetec Mission Control™ Web API in silent mode:

  1. As administrator, run the following command in the same directory as the Web API setup executable: 
    Genetec_MissionControlWebApi_Setup.exe /uninstall /quiet

After you finish

Create a Security Center user for the Web API.

The Web API requires a user with Genetec Mission Control™ privileges and Log on using the SDK. To learn about these privileges, refer to "Genetec Mission Control™ privileges" in the Genetec Mission Control™ User Guide and the Security Center Privileges document.
