As an observer, you can add valuable information to a Genetec Mission Control™ incident by adding comments, which can help the person in charge of resolving the incident.
You must have the Add incident comment privilege to add comments to an active incident. However, you do not need to be the incident owner.
What you should know
To add a comment to an incident:
In the Incident monitoring task, click the incident you want to
work on (in the list or on the map).
The incident details are displayed in the dashboard.
- In the Latest activity section, click Add comment.
In the text box that opens, enter your comment and click Add
Your username and comment are added to the incident activity log. Anyone monitoring the incident can read your comments, but only you can change or delete your comments. However, to do that, you must have the Edit/delete incident comments privilege.
To edit your comment:
- In the Latest activity section, point to a comment you entered and click Edit ().
In the dialog box that opens, edit your comment and click
The comment you edited is displayed at the top (most recent) of the incident activity log, in green. The old version of your comment stays in the activity log, but the color is changed to white.
