As the Genetec Mission Control™ incident owner, you can revise the incident's properties, such as the description, priority, and external ID, as the situation evolves.

Before you begin

If the incident belongs to another user, you must first take ownership of the incident before you can change its properties. If the incident has no owner, changing an incident property value automatically makes you the owner of the incident.

Procedure

  1. In the Incident monitoring task, click the incident you want to work on (in the list or on the map).
The incident details are displayed in the dashboard.
  2. Click Overview.
  3. At the top of the dashboard, click Edit ().
    Three fields can be edited.

  4. In the Description field, enter a text that describes the current situation.
You need the Change incident description privilege to change this field.
  5. In the External ID field, enter the ID that links this incident to an external system.
  6. In the Priority drop-down list, select a new priority.
You need the Change incident priority privilege to change this field.
  7. Click Save.

Results

Every change you make is added to the incident activity log for audit and investigation purposes.
