As a Genetec Mission Control™ incident owner, you can change the incident's properties, such as the description, priority, and external ID, as the situation evolves.

Before you begin

If the incident belongs to another user, you must take ownership of the incident before you can change its properties.


  1. In the Incident monitoring task, click the incident you want to work on.
    You can click in the list or on the map.
    The incident details are displayed in the incident details pane.
  2. Click Overview.
  3. At the top of the incident details pane, click Edit ().
    Three fields can now be edited.
  4. Modify the fields as needed:
    • In the Description field, enter a text that describes the current situation.

      You need the Change incident description privilege to change this field.

    • In the External ID field, enter the ID that links this incident to an external system.
    • In the Priority list, select a new priority.

      You need the Change incident priority privilege to change this field.

  5. Click Save.


Your changes are added to the incident activity log for audit and investigation purposes.
