As an observer, you can add valuable information to a Genetec Mission Control™ incident by attaching documents or URL links to documents, which can help the person in charge of resolving the incident.

Before you begin

  • You need the Add attached documents privilege to attach documents to an incident.
  • You need the Delete attached documents privilege to remove attached documents.
  • You need the Add attached links privilege to attach URL links to an incident.
  • You need the Delete attached links privilege to remove links attached to an incident.

What you should know

You do not need to be the incident owner to attach or remove a document, and the incident can be either active or closed.

Procedure

To attach a document to an incident:

  1. In the Incident monitoring task, click the incident you want to work on.
    You can click in the list or on the map.
    The incident details are displayed in the incident details pane.
  2. Navigate to the Documents widget in the incident details pane and click the widget heading or the next to the heading to get an expanded view.
    NOTE: You must have the option to display the Documents widget selected. See Personalizing the default incident management options for more details.
  3. You can either drag and drop files or click Add document ().
    NOTE: When you use the drag and drop option, you can attach multiple files at the same time.

When you click Add document:

  1. The Add document dialog box opens.
  2. You can choose the option to add file from your computer or enter a URL.
    NOTE: You can only attach one document or URL at a time.
    Make sure the URL is reachable from all workstations.

To remove a document or link from an incident:

  1. Beside the document link, click Remove ().
