In a Genetec
Patroller™ system that uses Plate Link to
monitor long term overtime zones, you must configure the system so that when the enforcement
officer returns to enforce violations, the associated license plate reads are still
available.
What you should know
When a parked vehicle exceeds the maximum time specified for a long term overtime zone
and an enforcement vehicle is dispatched to enforce the violation for the vehicle, the
Link reads persistence duration defined in
Genetec
Patroller™ must be longer than the
Number of
days defined for the overtime rule in
Security
Center. This ensures that the license plate read is
still available when Plate link downloads the updated list.
Procedure
To configure the overtime rule in Security
Center:
-
From the Security
Center
Config
Tool home page, click , and select the overtime rule you want to configure.
-
Click the Properties tab.
-
Select Long term overtime. This allows vehicles to park in the
same spot for more than 24 hours.
NOTE:
- This setting applies to AutoVu™
Genetec
Patroller™ City Parking Enforcement with or
without wheel imaging. The use of wheel-imaging cameras is recommended so that you
can distinguish between someone who parks in the same position and a vehicle which
has been abandoned.
- You can create multiple long-term overtime rules. In Genetec
Patroller™ Config Tool, you can then specify which rule
the patrol vehicle uses. For more information on configuring the Preferred long
term overtime zone in Genetec
Patroller™ Config Tool, see the Genetec
Patroller™ Administrator
Guide.
- When you select Long term overtime, the Parking
enforcement option is automatically set to Same
position, meaning the vehicle is in violation when it stays in the
same parking space longer than the configured Number of
days.
-
Set the Number of days that vehicles can park in the zone to
between one and five days.
-
Click Apply.
To configure the link read persistence duration in Genetec
Patroller™:
-
Open Genetec
Patroller™ Config Tool.
-
Go to .
-
Click Advanced.
The Advanced overtime settings window is displayed.
-
Set the Link read persistence duration so that when the
enforcement officer returns to enforce violations, the associated license plate reads are
still available.
-
Convert the Number of days that you previously defined to
hours. For example, 3 days converts to 72 hours.
-
Add additional hours to allow the enforcement officer to return. For example,
adding an additional 24 hours results in a Link read persistence
duration of 96 hours.
-
Click Save.
-
Click Apply.
