To encrypt offloaded data using the Live transfer method, you must configure Patroller with the public key file from Security Center.

What you should know

After upgrading Security Center, the OffloadPublicKey.xml file remains valid for most versions. However, some upgrade paths require action to restore offload functionality. If you use the Patroller Live transfer offload method with encryption enabled, follow these guidelines:

  • If you upgrade Security Center from version 5.11.x or 5.12.x to version 5.13.1 or later, you must either deactivate/activate the ALPR Manager or restart the Genetec server. The original OffloadPublicKey.xml file is still valid.
  • If you upgrade Security Center from version 5.13.1 to version 5.13.2, you must replace the OffloadPublicKey.xml file using the following steps.

Procedure

  1. On the Security Center computer, copy the OffloadPublicKey.xml file:
    • Prior to Security Center 5.13.1 : The file is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Genetec Security Center <your version>.
    • Security Center 5.13.1: The file is located at C:\Genetec\AutoVu\RootFolder\ManualTransfer\General.
    • Security Center 5.13.2 or later: The file is located at either C:\Genetec\AutoVu\RootFolder\PatrollerFiles\General or C:\Genetec\AutoVu\RootFolder\ManualTransfer\General.
  2. Paste the file to the Patroller computer at C:\Program Files\Genetec AutoVu X.Y\MobileClient.
  3. On the Offload page in Patroller Config Tool, turn on Use encryption.
  4. In the Public key field, enter the file path.
  5. Click Apply.
