Genetec Patroller™ 7.0.0 includes important new features as well as updates for bug fixes and security-related issues.

Security Center compatibility
Patroller 7.0.0 is compatible with the following minimum Security Center versions:
  • 5.13.3.1
  • 5.12.2.14
  • 5.11.3.26
  • 5.10.4.30
  • 5.9.5.11
Secure service port
Patroller now uses outbound TCP port 18731 over HTTPS to securely communicate with Security Center. For more information on the ports used by Patroller, see Ports used by AutoVu applications in Security Center.
NOTE: When you update Security Center, Patroller communicates with Security Center using port 18731. As a result, previous Patroller versions already connected to the deprecated port 8731 appear under the ALPR Manager in a yellow warning state. Patrollers continue to function and can send reads to Security Center as usual. To return the Patrollers to a normal state, update them to the latest Patroller release. For more information, see Updating Patroller.
Action required for encrypted offload after Security Center upgrade
If you use encrypted Live transfer for offloading from Patroller, upgrading to Security Center 5.13.2.0 or later requires you to manually replace the OffloadPublicKey.xml file on the Patroller computer. For more information, see Configuring a public key for encryption of offload data.
Secure Patroller Registration
Setting up Patroller to connect to Security Center now requires a username and password with adequate privileges. Patroller must be registered before it can start, and all API calls are authenticated using a securely stored API key. For more information, see Sending live events from Patroller to Security Center.
Continuous grooming of ALPR data
Patroller now grooms ALPR data continuously instead of only at startup. This ensures that expired data is removed more consistently throughout the shift. This change helps maintain database performance and improves compliance with retention settings.
Respect retention periods on live transfer
A new setting ensures that ALPR data always follows configured retention periods during live transfer. When Respect retention periods on live transfer is enabled, Patroller turns off caching and applies retention rules even if the connection to Security Center is lost. This ensures that the system is in compliance with retention policies. For more information, see Offloading reads to Security Center.
Custom date and time formats
In Patroller 7.0.0, you can now override the default date and time format that was assigned based on the language selection during installation. The format you select is applied throughout Patroller and Patroller Config Tool.
Custom date and time settings in Patroller Config Tool.
Unattended mode
In certain installations, the Patroller system might remain unattended for extended periods. For instance, a roadside trailer might monitor traffic continuously for several days without any human intervention. In such cases, systems configured in Law enforcement mode can be put in Unattended mode. In this mode, all pop-ups that require user action are closed after 20 seconds.
Database Support Update
Patroller installation packages come with SQL Server 2022 Express for easy installation. You can also choose to install SQL Server 2019.
NOTE: Support for SQL Server 2012 and 2014 is no longer available.
Patroller help available in WebHelp
The F1 key in Patroller and Patroller Config Tool now opens web-based help instead of a PDF document. This change improves accessibility and allows for easier navigation and search functionality.
Example of the webhelp available in Patroller.
Standalone installation mode removed
Patroller can no longer be installed in Standalone mode. You can still install Patroller for Law Enforcement, City Parking Enforcement, University Parking Enforcement, Curb Sense, and MLPI modes.
Local file offload removed
The Local file offload option is longer available. License plate reads can be offloaded using the Security Center - Live events method and the Offload - Live transfer method.
Patroller Transfer Tool removed
The Patroller Transfer Tool is no longer supported for transferring ALPR data to Security Center. The tool has been removed from the Patroller installation package.
