You can add a PIN code to an airport badge if certain airport gates are equipped with a card and PIN reader.

What you should know

A PIN code is a separate PIN credential in Synergis™. When you add a PIN code to a badge, you are assigning an additional credential to that badge.

Procedure

  1. From the Airport badging management task, select the applicant's name from the list of companies and employees.
To search for an employee, click at the bottom of the list and use the Search dialog box.
  2. Click the Badges tab.
  3. Under the Credentials section, click and then click Add PIN code ().
  4. In the dialog box that opens, select the badge (Company and Badge type), enter a 4-digit PIN code, and click OK.

A new row is added to the Credentials section with a green check mark in the PIN column. For security reasons, the PIN is never displayed.

This means a new PIN credential has been created for the same cardholder that owns the badge. The PIN credential follows the name of the card credential with the suffix "_PIN" added.
  5. (Optional) To verify this, click Manage cardholders, find the badge owner in the cardholder list, select it and click Modify ().
The cardholder details window opens. You should see two credentials assigned to the cardholder, one PIN credential and one card credential. The following screen capture is an example. Your layout might look different depending on the custom fields you have and how you decided to group them.
