Integrating Genetec™ Airport Badging Solution and all necessary devices in Security Center consists of a series of steps that need to be followed in sequence.

The following table lists the tasks required for the integration with Security Center, and how to verify that the integration was successful.

Prerequisites and key issues
1 Learn what you can do using the plugin.
2 Before installing the plugin, read the release notes to learn about the new features, the known issues, and the limitations.
3 Learn about the different components and how they connect together.
4 Ensure that the server where the plugin will be installed meets the recommended system requirements and is running a compatible version of Security Center.
Preparation
5 Verify that the Security Center license has a valid certificate for the plugin and Security Center Enterprise. Go to the Config Tool home page, click About > Certificates, and confirm that Airport Badging Solution is in the list.
6 Download the plugin and install it on all Security Center machines that require it.
7 Connect the external devices, such as signature pads, fingerprint readers, and ID scanners to the Security Desk workstations and install their drivers.
8 Grant privileges to the Security Center users who need to configure and use the badging solution:
Integrator
Needs to configure the ABS plugin role and badge types with Config Tool.
Badging officer
Needs to configure the airport companies and employees, and process badge applications using Security Desk.
Initial setup
9 In Config Tool, create and configure the Airport Badging Solution plugin role.
10 In Config Tool, define the different classes of badges used at your airport as badge type entities.
11 In Security Desk, define the companies that operate at the airport. These include airline companies, restaurants, and stores.
12 In Security Desk, add for each company, a first employee who will act as the authorized signatory (AS).
Normal operation
13 Follow the normal badge application workflow.
