If you want to collect and use data from Security Center ALPR events, you must configure the Security Center event as a data sink.
Before you begin
What you should know
- In the context of Security Center, an event indicates the occurrence of an activity or incident, such as access denied to a cardholder or motion detected on a camera. Events are automatically logged in Security Center. Every event has an entity as its main focus, called the event source.
- Configuring Security Center events as data sinks raises Security Center events for reads and hits so that they can be used for event to action.
- The Security Center events sink should not be used with a Genetec Sharp data source because it results in duplicate ALPR read events in the system.
Procedure
- Click Add ().
- Select the Security Center events sink type and click Confirm.
- Select the Enabled check box.
- Select the sources from which you want to collect data.
- Assign a name to the data sink.
- Choose to include a combination of reads, hits, and images in this data sink.
- In the Interval field, define a time period after which the data sink will search the data source for new data.
- In the Retries field, determine the number of times the data sink will attempt to ingest data from sources after a failure has occurred.
- In the Batch size field, determine how many reads, hits, and images to include in each data offload.
