It is important to regularly clean your database to remove old data so that the database does not grow beyond its capacity. If the database is full, your integration might stop working.

Before you begin

Ensure you have the following privileges:
  • View role properties
  • Modify role properties
  • Administration > Plugins

What you should know

  • The plugin role database stores the events and the entity configuration.
  • The plugin role database contains plugin properties, related entities, events, and alarms associated with automated license plate recognition cameras.

Procedure

To configure database cleanup:

  1. From the ALPR plugin, navigate to the Database cleanup section of the Data sinks page.
  2. In the Batch size field, quantify the number of items you want the cleanup to handle at one time. A larger batch size is more efficient, but might experience timeouts on systems with less resources.
  3. In the Batch delay ms field, define a time period after which the next batch will be processed.
  4. In the Data retention section, define time periods for the retention of ALPR reads, ALPR read images, and ALPR hits.
  5. Click Apply.
Database cleanup window showing data retention policy set for 35 days for hits and 25 days for reads. Cleaning is scheduled for Sundays at 8:00pm.

To configure backup and restore settings:

  1. Navigate to the Resources page in the Genetecâ„¢ Third-Party ALPR plugin.
  2. Click Backup/Restore (), choose the location for backup files, enable automatic backups at least once per week, and then click OK.

  3. Click Apply.
