Before you can start collecting data from your ALPR cameras, you must configure data sources for the Genetec™ Third-Party ALPR plugin.

Before you begin

Configure the plugin role.

What you should know

  • Using a data source, all data is converted from the incoming data model to the Third-Party ALPR plugin ALPR read data model.
  • When combined with data sinks, plugin data sources can be used to send read and hit data, as well as images, to the cloud and archive servers.

Procedure

  1. Configuring cloud-hosted third-party cameras as data sources in the Third-Party ALPR plugin
  2. Configuring on-premises cameras as data sources in the Third-Party ALPR plugin
  3. Configuring Security Center events data sources in the Third-Party ALPR plugin

Example

See the following table for suggested data source and data sink combinations:
Source type Suggested typical data sinks
ALPR (cloud-hosted third-party camera data source) SC events, Valcri, Database (hits, and images)
Genetec Sharp (Security Center events data source) Valcri
Plugin REST API (on-premises third-party camera data source) SC events, Valcri, Database (reads, hits, and images)
