Data sinks control where the data gathered by the Genetec™ Third-Party ALPR plugin is sent.
Security Center events data sinks
The Security Center events data sink collects and uses data from Security Center ALPR events.
NOTE:
- An event is a record of an activity or incident that occurred in the system. Security personnel can monitor events in real time and investigate them later. Events can also trigger automations in the system.
- Configuring Security Center events as data sinks raises Security Center events for reads and hits so that they can be used for event to action.
- The Security Center events sink should not be used with a Genetec™ Sharp data source because it results in duplicate ALPR read events in the system.
- You can configure data sources in a manner suitable for most use cases with the configuration wizard. For more information, see Configuring plugin data sources and data sinks using the configuration wizard.
Database data sinks
The database data sink sends ALPR data to a database.
- A database server is an application that manages databases and handles data requests made by client applications. Security Center uses Microsoft SQL Server as its database server.
- The Genetec™ Third-Party ALPR plugin database can be used to store reads and hits so that they can be viewed in the Security Center Reads and Hits task.
- The database sink should not be used to ingest data from Sharp cameras.
-
Tip: For example, create two database data sinks of the following varieties:
- Plugin REST API: including reads and images
- ALPR ingestion service and plugin REST API: including hits and images
Record fusion data sinks
The Record fusion data sink integrates your ALPR data with a Record Fusion Service.
- The Record Fusion Service is the central role that provides a unified querying mechanism for data records that come from a wide variety of sources, such as Security Center modules or third-party applications. All record requests go through this role, which then queries their respective record providers.
Third-party data exporter
The Third-party data exporter data sink exports ALPR data to external applications and services.
NOTE:
- The data exporter data sink is intended to serve the purpose of the AutoVu Third-party data exporter feature by allowing Genetec™ Third-Party ALPR to export ALPR data to external applications and services. For more information about the AutoVu Third-party data exporter, refer to the Security Center Administrator Guide on the TechDoc Hub.
- Compared to AutoVu data exporter, the Third-Party ALPR data exporter
feature has the following limitations:
AutoVu data exporter feature Options Endpoints Only HTTPS is supported. Export formats JSON and XML are supported. Reads and hits Reads and hotlist hits only NOTE: For more information on hit types, refer to the What to export section of Configuring the HTTPS endpoint to export read and hit events on the TechDoc Hub.Enforced hits only Not supported. All hits are exported even if this setting is applied. Watermarks Not supported. Images are still exported, but without watermarks. Critical Not supported Authorization mode Only noneandClientCredentialsare supported.NOTE: For more information about AutoVu data exporter options, refer to the Security Center Administrator Guide on the TechDoc Hub.
