Licenses can be modified manually through Server Admin, or automatically pushed to your system using the Genetec™ Update Service (GUS). If one of your current licenses is overridden by an update that does not match your system, your system might no longer work.

Tip: To get all log files and configurations files necessary to investigate any Genetec Update Service issues in a zip file, click the Get troubleshooting data in the Settings tab Advanced settings section. For more information, see Configuring Advanced settings

Cause

For example, if you are no longer using Access Control in your Security Center system, new licenses that GUS applies to your system will not include the Access Control part number. If you have not removed the Access Control role from your system at the time the new license is applied, a conflict occurs. If a licensing conflict occurs, you receive the following error message when opening Config Tool:

Solution

To resolve this issue, do one of the following:
  • If you have an entity on your system that is not contained in your license and you do not need it, remove it.
  • If an entity should have been included in your license but is not, contact Customer Service to update your license.
