In the Genetecâ„¢ Web App, you can configure how to present times from devices in your Security Center system that operate in multiple time zones. Times in reports and on the video timeline can be represented as a fixed time zone or as the local time zone for each device.

The time zone settings affect how the time range filters in your reports work. If you select a fixed time zone, the results that come from a device (such as an access control unit or video unit) in another time zone are adjusted for time differences.

You create a report with a time range between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Eastern time, and the search includes devices located in Vancouver (Pacific time). Depending on your time zone settings, one of the following happens:
  • Device local time: The report results are from events that occurred between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
  • Fixed time zone: The report results are adjusted to the set time zone: Eastern time. The report results are shown to have occurred between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. due to the three-hour time difference between the Eastern time zone and Vancouver.
