When you have the GeoRSS role, you can add and subscribe to RSS feeds in Security Center.

Before you begin

What you should know

Feeds that contain geolocation data are displayed on Security Desk maps.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool home page, open the Plugins task.
  2. Select the GeoRSS role, and then click the Feeds tab.
  3. Click the add button ().
  4. In the GeoRSS feed dialog box, enter the following information:
    Name
    A user-defined name for the RSS feed. It can contain up to 100 characters, including special characters and accents.
    URL
    The web address of the RSS feed.
    Fetch interval
    The frequency, in seconds, at which the feed is updated. By default, the feed is updated every 60 seconds. The minimum value is 10 seconds. There is no maximum value.
  5. (Optional) Add filters to receive RSS messages for a specific location or for specific text.
  6. Click OK, and then click Apply.

Results

When the status icon to turns green, the feed is available and connected.
Green
The feed connection is ON and the feed is available.
One license is consumed.
Red
The feed connection is ON, but the feed is unavailable.
One license is consumed.
Confirm that the URL is correct.
Yellow
The feed connection is ON, but the feed is blocked by Security Center because a license is unavailable.
Free a license or purchase additional GeoRSS licenses.
Gray
The feed connection is OFF.
One license is consumed.
To receive the feed, move the Connection slider to ON.
