Before you can import cardholders and credential data from the HID pivCLASS PACS Service to Security Center, you must modify the template.xml file that is part of the HID pivCLASS PACS Service.

What you should know

The template file also allows for optional customization, such as automatically importing cardholders to cardholder groups or associating smart card data elements to cardholder custom fields.

For more information, see the pivCLASS PACS Plug-in Template XML File Specification by HID.

  1. Open the template.xml file.
By default, the file is located in C:\Progarm Files (x86)\HID Global\pivCLASS PACS Service\templates\template.xml
NOTE: The Server Configuration of the pivCLASS PACS Service must point to the correct template file.
  2. In the file, define the Security Center partition to import the cardholder and credential data, as follows:
NOTE: This can be the root partition, which is by default named after the main server, or another defined partition. The following example shows the root partition defined as GENETECFED.
  3. (Optional) Configure cardholders to be imported into cardholder groups.
NOTE: By default, cardholders and their associated credentials are imported into Security Center, but are not assigned to any cardholder groups. For cardholders to automatically be assigned to cardholder groups upon import, you must uncomment the following section in the file, and replace the option values with cardholder group names:

In the example, the cardholder groups are None, Administrators, Contractors, and Visitors.

  4. Save the file.
