With custom parsing, the user can manually map specific Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) segments to the associated custom fields in ID Scanner. The rules in the custom-parsing configuration file are filtered by document type, country, and line count to ensure the correct mapping for scanned documents.
- Custom parsing is only available for Gemalto readers.
- Custom parsing is a post-parsing feature. Configured fields that are successfully parsed override values retrieved using scanner drivers.
- If the custom parsing fails or there are errors in the configuration file, the scan window shows an error, but values retrieved by the scanner driver are still available.
- Special characters and accents are not supported by the custom parser.
- The configuration file provided with the plugin includes parsing rules for European country codes.
- Formulas are not supported. For example, the client number for some ID formats add 50 to
the month number of the birth date for female cardholders.
