If you need to parse data from a format we do not support, you have the option to use IDScan.net parser instead of the Genetec™ parser. You can parse scanned data using IDScan.net after you have set up a valid license.

Before you begin

  • You must purchase a valid license from IDScan.net for each workstation you want to use. The license will come with the required .lic file
    NOTE: You cannot buy this license from Genetec Inc..
  • IDScan.net licenses do not add additional fields.

What you should know

ID Scanner plugin 3.2.1 supports multiple card formats without the need to purchase additional licenses. If you need to parse data from a format that is not supported by Genetec Inc., you must add an IDScan.net parser. This requires the purchase and configuration of an IDScan.net license.

Procedure

  1. Open the ID Scanner window.
  2. In the IDScan.net license (Optional) section, enter or browse to the path where you saved the license file.
    ID Scanner Options window with License file path field highlighted.
  3. Click Test license.
    A pop-up window opens to confirm if the license is valid.
  4. Click Save.
    You can use the IDScan.net parser to decode the data.
